Mary Trella
I have no previous painting experience unless you consider finger painting in Kindergarten. When my husband and I retired and moved to Nashville, I found I had time on my hands. I was fortunate enough to learn of the Old Hickory Art Center.
With the help of Tom Taylor and Faye Huffine, the Center's Director and invaluable assistant, I've learned techniques and skills that have allowed me to improve with each piece in a variety of subjects and styles.
I entered and took Second Place at the 2009 Tennessee State Fair for my work entitled 'Grassmere' as well as Third Place for my work entitled 'Purple Iris' at the Picture This Art Gallery.
